We are proud to announce that Hatton National Bank PLC (HNB) has become Sri Lanka’s first bank to formally embark on the path toward the ZeroPlastic Commitment Standard, following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the ZeroPlastic Movement.
This bold step demonstrates HNB’s leadership in corporate sustainability and commitment to reducing its environmental footprint through plastic reduction and the adoption of sustainable alternatives.
As the first initiative under this partnership, a pilot project will be launched at HNB Tower, aiming to align its operations with the Level 1 requirements of the ZeroPlastic Commitment Standard.
🔹 Level 1 focuses on:

The ZeroPlastic Commitment Standard is designed by a pool of sustainability experts and aligns with global best practices. Final certification eligibility will be independently verified by Control Union Sri Lanka, a globally recognized auditing and verification body known for its credibility and rigor.
